From Strength to Strength

by Arthur Brooks

I came to this book at 58, which probably matters.

Brooks writes about what happens when some of the abilities that helped us succeed earlier in our careers begin to change, and why that doesn’t mean our most meaningful or productive years are behind us.

What interested me most was the idea that the second half of a career shouldn’t simply be an attempt to hold onto the first half. I mean, we’re not rock stars, right? There may be another kind of strength available to us if we’re willing to stop measuring ourselves by exactly the same things.

For anyone beginning to wonder, What do I want the next part of my life to look like? this is worth reading.
